When you are playing Blackjack either online or offline then you may be expecting to receive a payout at odds of 3-2 every time you are Dealt a Blackjack hand.
But you may receive a different payout when playing certain Blackjack variants, this doesn't always mean that you are being short changed by the casino and we shall now explain the differences in Blackjack payout's.
The odds paid out for a receiving a Blackjack hand can vary from game to game and although you may be expecting a payout of 3-2 for getting such a hand this is not always the case.
For example if you choose to play Real Time Gaming's Blackjack variant called Face Up 21 a Blackjack hand will payout at odds of even money, this may seem a poor payout, but a player who is dealt a Blackjack
will always win if both he and the Dealer have Blackjack, so the payout now seems quite generous!
Double Exposure Blackjack is another variant that will pay a winning Blackjack player hand out at even money, but when playing this game both the dealers and players cards are always dealt face up, so you always know what the
dealer is holding, so again the low Blackjack payout has been compensated for.
There is one Blackjack game that gives you more than 3-2 for a Blackjack and this is the game of Gold Series Super Fun 21 Blackjack. A Blackjack hand pays even money, unless it is in the suit of Diamonds, if it is then this payout becomes a more favorable 2-1.
Playtech have a
Blackjack Switch game and a Blackjack hand pays even money, the house edge of the Blackjack Switch game, when played with six decks is 0.17%, so even though the Blackjack payout seems low you this is one of the best games to play.
You must keep your eyes peeled for when a
casino offers you a single deck Blackjack game, which on the face of it looks like it will have a low house edge and make you think you are getting a good deal. But not when you discover that the payout for a Blackjack hand is 6 to 5 for a Blackjack.
A 6-5 Blackjack payout will have an adverse effect on your winnings and bankroll,
if you are playing such a game from a single hand shoe then you are going are going to bust out 8 times more quickly than you would by
playing a normal 3-2 Blackjack paying single deck game!
As you can see from the our above examples there are a great many different Blackjack payout's, some lower than the standard 3 -2 and a some higher, so don't get mugged at the Blackjack table and do your homework
before you sit down to play!
